Aqualu Industries is the manufacturer of aluminum bodies for Toyota Landcruiser BJ/FJ 40, 42 and 45 ans also Jeep CJ5, CJ7 und CJ8.

- Delivered parts / Material
All components from Aqualu are being delivered complete packaged (big parts within a wooden compartment). All parts are welded and crafted out of massive aluminum with no further treatment.
Landcruiser bodies and parts are made of 3,2mm thick, Jeep bodies of4,0mm thick aluminum '5052 Marine Grade'.

- Container-Collection
Freight costs are - sorry to say - a not neglectable part of the total cost for an Aqualu Aluminum body. We are in constant efford to minimize freight-related costs as much as possible. Therefore we offer you a second way of ordering and delivery:
On your request we do a collection of orders regarding Aqualu bodies and parts. As soon as we can fill a complete container this one goes towards shipment overseas and distribution in Europe (you can come to Bremen and get it there for yourself of course, too ;-). This saves you up to 10% of the total sum.
We are planning regular container orders with arrivals around summer's end to give you the complete winter for your projects. Details regarding collective order may be requested via Mail.

- Warranty
Our given Warranty regarding material and workmanship only covers the body, the material, the welding and processing of teh body or part as delvered from Aqualu to you. We have no ability to control painting, mounting or any work that will be done on the body or part. Therefore we cannot be reliablefor damages like corrosion due to faulty painting, vibration damages and so on. Our warranty only covers the replacement or fixing of single or complete parts. Costs emerging due to painting, mounting, transportation or else are explicitly not covered by any of our warranties.
As an Aqual aluminum Body is a made-to-order every body, tub and part has to be inspected immediate after delivery before any kind of work on it starts.

- the Body-Swap
When we talk of a body swap this doesn't mean a kind of action one enthusiastic man can do inside his double garage within a weekend or two.

Most often you have a vehicle under your hands which is aged several years under different drivers. Its original material isn't worth a extra derusting, welding and painting with all the work that is connected to that. So what you do have in front of you has often suffered many modifications.

An Aqualu aluminum Body is not what you call a 'Bolt-On-and-Go'-product (although we wish it could be). Most often you do have to make slight re-arrangements regarding the fitting of the body or the frame. The related work is most often drilling or cutting or bending. You need a complete equipped garage with tools and machinery before you can start. A complete documentation is also very handy. Most project take an excessive amount of time due to missing small parts like custom bushings, nuts and bolts. We strongly recommend you to do the body-swap together with or by a professional near you.

- Pre- & Post-Treatment of an Aluminum Body
aluminum has to be protected from the effects of the weather just like steel. The most aggressive effekt in northern areas is the salt dispensed on the streets during winter.
The process of painting aluminum is different from the one you know from steel.
The basic layer on aluminum has to be a special primer (called wash-primer). These primers most often consist of a zink-chrome-substance that should be applied only by approved personnel. Read the manufacturers documentation!
We offer an aero- & military approved line of heavy-duty corrosion inhibtors esspecially for protection of Aluminum and steel bodies.

- Other things that matter
aluminum tends to react with other metals that are in direct metallic contact like iron or steel. It forms out a kind of local battery under the presence of humidity. This 'battery' forces the zone of contact to corrode.
To avoid this, you should take several action:

- Painting
- Use of aluminum rivets
- insulation of zones of metal contact with insulating tape, plastic washers, glue, silicone a.s.o.
- complete sealing with wax and corrosion inhibitors
